Social Focus is an organization that partners with local and international journalists to produce documentary and journalistic coverage on global issues.
Our areas of focus include democracy, human rights, migration, and environmental concerns.
We operate worldwide, assembling diverse teams to ensure a multifaceted perspective. Below are some highlights from our recent coverage:
We have collaborated with various organizations and media outlets, such as Global Exchange, to document severe violence, human crises, and police brutality in different countries. Our coverage included the violence perpetrated by the Colombian State against youth during the National Strike from April to May 2021. This included murders and numerous cases of eye injuries.

We coordinated observation, documentation, and journalism missions for the general elections in Honduras (2022), Brazil (2022), Colombia (2023), and Guatemala (2023) in collaboration with Global Exchange, local organizations, and regional and international media.
In March 2022, we reported on the mass migration from Ukraine following the Russian invasion, supported by Global Exchange, Ethnic Media Services, and Palabra.
We documented human rights violations against indigenous communities in Peru amid a political crisis triggered by the impeachment of former President Pedro Castillo by Congress, in partnership with then Vice President Dina Bolauarte. Our findings have been presented in various media platforms and discussed in both in-person and online forums.
We also featured our work in the multiformat exhibition “Peru Resists,” displaying large photographs of the streets of Mexico City.
